Her name is Bindi and she has a little original bisque Koala, Nargoon (the Australian aboriginal word for Koala). The flowers, native Australian gum nut flowers and flannel flowers, are all hand-made by Maree, together with gum nuts and Eucalyptus leaves. She uses felt and doeskin (suede leather) for the flowers, which have hand-painted centers. They really need to be seen “in person” to appreciate their beauty. The branches are also made of doeskin and because they are all hand-made, each one is unique. A little Australian bird sits on a twig amongst the leaves just above the baby Bindi’s head. Maree will be giving an additional surprise to the students at her workshop.
